Engineering and Fine Arts are both creative disciplines that can be fused together to create extraordinary things. That is exactly the inspiration behind this project. We took the influence of real-time temperature data to create an artistic climatograph. The mechanical arm driven by motors draws a colored-pencil line onto the turntable canvas. The table then turns a fraction of a radian every five minutes and a new line is drawn. The color wheel is made up of 6 colors that correspond with a temperature range. A temperature sensor works in conjunction with a microcontroller to determine which color is used for each five-minute mark. At the end of a day a spectrum of colors is finished, revealing the days temperature data through art.
