Maintaining mental count of the amount of sit-ups performed during a workout can be a challenge on it’s own. Losing count of sit-ups is annoying and harmful to the efficiency of a workout. The sit-up counting device is a simple solve to this irritable mental shortcoming. This innovation consists of a pressure plate that mechanically triggers internal buttons. Each time a sit up is performed the buttons are pressed signaling to a microcontroller that the sit-up count has increased by one. The microcontroller communicates with a smartphone app to keep track of the quantity of sit-ups. This also makes it possible to keep tolls of the amount of sit-ups done each hour, day, week, month, etc. This provides valuable data to help track core strength and fitness in general.
